Big families are my JAM! When Samantha reached out saying she needed new family photos after the addition of their 7th and final baby last year, I literally did a happy dance in my living room. Big families are always such a blast to work with, and the Bachand Family was no exception!
Samantha and I worked extensively on their family’s outfit choices before the session. She had a very clear vision for what she wanted, and together, we brought that vision to life! A mix of trendy and boho outfits amongst all 9 people made for an eclectic look, which fit perfectly with the industrial location they chose. It’s so important to spend time on wardrobe before your session — and making sure the wardrobe and location work well together is crucial. This is why I offer custom styling to my clients!
The Bachands decided to do their session at Camp North End in Charlotte, an old converted warehouse district with shipping containers, windows, and graffiti. We had a blast wandering around the area, finding unique spots to use for photos. Of course, the iconic water tower featured prominently in several shots, but we managed to find some new backdrops to use as well. We laughed, we played, we snuggled, and the result was pure magic!
