The Velez Family maternity session was one for the books! Ashley and Andrew wanted to do something epic for their last pregnancy: a maternity shoot in a waterfall! So I spent some time searching for the perfect location for us to bring their idea to life. We landed on a waterfall at Hanging Rock State Park, about 30 minutes outside of Winston-Salem. Since it was mid-October, the leaves were all vibrantly colored, creating a gorgeous backdrop.
We took a short hike down lots of stairs (shout out to Ashley for doing great on this hike while in her third trimester!), and were rewarded with the beautiful sights and sounds of the waterfall. We started easy with shots on the rocks, in the creek, and on the beach, until we were ready to take the plunge and head into the water! Don’t worry, everyone’s safety was our top priority. At times, we were in the water all the way up to our waist! Ashley and Andrew were absolute champions, and their photos are truly epic.
After seeing their photos, Ashley said, “Oh my god, I am crying over how absolutely amazing the photos turned out!! Andrew and I are completely stunned and obsessed!! 😍😍😍” I was overjoyed to know these precious photos matched their vision so well. And we had a blast creating them! If you have a particular idea for your photoshoot, I’m here to make it happen!
Thanks again to the Velez family for braving the cold water to do something new with me!
